BOLD JOURNEY ARTICLE
Tiffany was honored to have been invited to share my story with Bold Journey Magazine.
“My mom died just two months after her diagnosis, and grief was so overwhelming. I knew there was no “bouncing back” and that I am not the same woman as before she died. I think that sometimes, the expectation of grievers is to return to their normal, and those who have never experienced a significant loss may not know the impossibility of that. We are forever changed, but on my healing journey, it has been hope and light that has propelled me forward. I’ve had to embrace how I’ve grown and changed, without my mom, how I can live out the things I loved about her most, all while recognizing that it is okay to not always be strong.
I now view resiliency as the faith that I can make it through, that I don’t need to do it alone, and that although we can work to be strong, it is lovely when we also surround ourselves with those who can help uplift us when being strong is simply too much to ask.” -

CANVAS REBEL FEATURE
Hi Tiffany , thanks for joining us today. Any advice for creating a more inclusive workplace?
I was so ill prepared for the impacts of grief when I returned to work after my mom died, I’d slowly watched lung cancer take her life in two short months, and after she was gone, I didn’t have the luxury of simply taking time to heal. I had to return to work, and in the wave of my grief, I could not believe how hard it was to fully function. I didn’t understand or anticipate how little I could concentrate or how the world was moving on, while I felt stuck in my loss. Some things had little importance to me in comparison to my heartbreak. I was fortunate that my boss was also living through the loss of a parent. She created a safe space by giving permission to grieve. She recognized my humanity and let the work come second to that. When I confessed that I felt like I was lost and simply staring at the wall a good portion of the day, she told me to just put out the fires, let the team know how they could help, and take care of myself.

Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Leading with empathy is important to me. I know the power of feeling seen and embraced with kindness, so I am intentional about how I show up for the people in my life. When my mom suffered a stroke, and was later diagnosed with the aggressive lung cancer that would quickly take her life, I was moved by how those around me, many who could not relate, found countless ways to be supportive. I learned from them how to seize opportunities to be present, kind, and honor each person’s journey.

KEEP SOCIAL MEDIA SOCIAL MAGAZINE
Amanda: Hi Tiffany - I am thrilled to be connecting with you today. Can you tell us about how you got started with your business?
Tiffany: Sure! I started the Kindness Concierge in 2023 after working in the nonprofit sector for the last 23 years. In every organization I worked with, including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, I was moved by the sense of community and impact that was created by people coming together for a good cause.
I was inspired to create the Kindness Concierge after witnessing acts of empathy and learning how to meet people where they are at. My personal experience with grief after losing my mom in 2017 showed me how needed a service like the Kindness Concierge was. So, I started it.
